The Rising 13U Loudoun Aces are excited to announce a new coaching staff led by some of Loudoun County’s best young baseball professionals.

Rusty Smith takes over as Skipper of the Loudoun Aces. Rusty was a 4-year starter at Heritage HS where he was a 2-time 2nd team All-District player. Rusty went on to Longwood (D1) and Mars Hill Colleges (D2) where he led his team in HRs as a junior and doubles as a senior while playing all 3 outfield positions. Rusty was named team captain as a junior and was 1st team All Conference as a senior. Rusty is currently a teacher at Harmony Middle School and the Assistant Varsity baseball Coach at Loudoun Valley High School. Rusty’s vision for the team is to create a premier Loudoun County based competitive youth team that prepares players for high school and beyond.

Jason Bagby grew up playing baseball in Loudoun County where he was part of the first State Championship team in Lower Loudoun Little League in 1987. While playing at Broad Run High School, he was a member of the first State Championship team in 1991 and a 1st team All-State selection. Jason went on to play middle infield for JMU. After graduating, Jason ended up back at Broad Run as a Varsity assistant coach. For four years, he was responsible for the offense and infielders. Since his time at BR, Jason has been working with players in individual and small group settings as a partner and lead instructor at Diamond Sports Training, as well as coaching travel teams ranging from ages 12 to 16. Jason also serves as the assistant Varsity coach at Herndon High School. Jason was inducted into the inaugural class of the Lower Loudoun Little League Hall of Fame in 2009 for his career accomplishments as a player.
